Cross-Country Skiing, Fat Biking & Snowshoeing
Methow Trails offers the largest Nordic ski trail system in North America. Experience over 200 miles of groomed trails set for classic and skate skiing. Visit Winthrop Mountain Sports for Ski Rental Packages and Snoeshow rental for adults and children.

Winthrop's outdoor skating rink offers fun for all ages. The Winthrop Ice & Sports Rink now known as "Winthrop Rink", earned a ranking for one of the top 10 outdoor skating rinks in the West by Sunset Magazine. The ice rink is a short 15-minute walk from the resort, just follow the wooden boardwalk and cross the Spring Creek pedestrian bridge and discover this magical place.

The Methow Valley offers trails abound for snowmobilers. There are a variety of routes to choose fro with 11 Sno-Parks located throughout the trail system. A popular run is from the Boulder Creek Sno-Park and heads east for 40 miles to a snowmobile-friendly town of Conconully.
Sledding & Tubing
Who doesn't want to enjoy the simple pleasure of sledding? We know the three places for fun and safe sledding.
The Loup Loup Ski Bowl offers a fun tubing hill just below the Barvarian lodge. Inner Tube rental is availabe on site for $6.
The Winthrop Town Trailhead next to the Ice Rink offers a small hill for the kiddos. If you don't have a sled, you can purchase inexpensive ones at the local, Winthrop Ace Hardware store. This is a nice walk from the resort, just follow the wooden boardwalk through town and cross the Spring Creek pedestrian bridge. On the return walk, be sure to stop at the Rocking Horse Bakery for some warm beverages and yummy treats.
Sun Mountain has a wonderful long, sledding run that kids will sure enjoy! Sleds are available at the lodges activity desk. This is an awesome lookout to view the magnificant valley.
